A and M Home Care’s mission is to provide specialized residential services to individuals with developmental disabilities, ages 18–59 years old, in a natural, home-like environment.

At A and M Home Care we believe in enhancing the life experiences for each person who resides in our homes. We focus on a person’s strengths, preferences, and interest in having the life they want. We look at the unique and diverse needs of each person and provide guidance, training, and strategies to help them address personal barriers.

 

Our team is person-centered in which the resident leads their circle of support team and helps to direct their own vision, goals, and objectives for their life.

 

Our hope is that each person will experience an increase in personal growth in the home and community leading to a meaningful life.

OUR VALUES

Principles of Normalization – Services are based on the principles of normalization. This means each individual can reach their potential in life similar to the their peers without disabilities. This can include having the opportunities for integrated, age appropriate activities that take place in natural environments, i.e., at home, at work, in the community and during leisure time.

Personal Growth – We value offering opportunities for each individual to achieve personal growth. This means that each person can build their self-esteem, confidence and skills needed to develop positive relationships, contribute to their home community and live as independently as their peers.

Cultural Diversity – A and M Aurora Home Care values the cultural diversity needs of each person. This includes considerations in the type of activities, staffing, languages, meals, and other personal choices that are important to the individual’s family history, cultural beliefs, activities and events, rituals customs, values, and traditions.

Community Partnerships – In order to accomplish our mission, A and M Aurora Home Care values our community partnerships. These relationships are vital to the success of our program. We strive to build our community connections to ensure that each person receives services and supports that help build lives, provide stability and create a safe, positive home environment.

Self-Determination – We also value self-determination. Our hope is that person will have the opportunity to enhance their life skills. This includes understanding how to build positive relationships, voice their concerns/needs and successes, identify their interest and participate in their community and accessing resources. Our goal is that the individual will learn informed decision-making, choice, independence and understand their position as a contributing member of their community.
